My name is Hilton Olivier, and I am a versatile graphic designer from South Africa with a passion for visual storytelling. I major in Finance and Minor in Data Analytics and play Division 1 Collegiate Rugby for Queens University of Charlotte. I take my creativity of storytelling to the finance industry to find the balance between my left and right brain ideas. It is a passion of mine to find the middle ground between numbers, investments and visual storytelling. I have completed different projects in sports illustration, storytelling and wildlife photography. My design philosophy revolves around simplicity, clarity, and a keen attention to detail, aiming to create impactful and memorable visuals that resonate with audiences.
I enjoy playing golf and being outdoors. Experiencing new golf courses around the world. Any type of outdoor activity. The outdoors offers endless opportunities for adventure, whether you’re hiking through rugged terrain, camping under a starlit sky, or simply taking a leisurely stroll along a scenic trail. Connecting with nature can also foster a sense of wonder and appreciation for the world around you, reminding you of the profound beauty and complexity of the natural world.
Rugby has been a massive part of my life. I have been playing rugby from the age of 5 years. It has taught me so many lessons like teamwork, dedication, courage, and hard work. Additionally, rugby teaches resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. Whether facing a tough opponent, recovering from a setback, or pushing through physical exhaustion, players learn to dig deep and keep pushing forward, developing mental toughness and grit.
Optimism is key and I strive to make the community around me a better place. I try to embody qualities such as kindness, compassion, empathy, integrity, and generosity. Also, by simple acts of kindness or larger-scale efforts to enact meaningful change. It is important to treat others with respect and dignity, regardless of differences in background or beliefs, and I seek to understand and empathize with the experiences of others.
